Lateef Adedimeji to produce epic movie on ‘Ekiti Parapo War’ with state support

Popular Nollywood actor Lateef Adedimeji, alongside his wife, Adebimpe, has received the backing of the Ekiti State Government to produce an epic movie on the historic Ekiti Parapo War.

The movie aims to depict the struggle and eventual triumph of the Ekiti people over oppression, using a world-class production approach to bring the story to life.

This announcement was made by Yinka Oyebode, the Special Adviser on Media to Governor Biodun Oyebanji, during a statement released on Tuesday.

Governor Oyebanji gave his approval for the project during a meeting held on Monday in Ado-Ekiti.

The production is a collaboration between the Ekiti State Ministry of Arts, Culture and Creative Economy and AL Notions Film Company, which is owned by the Nollywood couple.

According to Oyebode, the project will be privately funded and spearheaded by AL Notions Film Company, the same team behind the acclaimed film Lisabi: The Uprising.

It will feature a partnership with a team from the Ekiti State Ministry of Arts, Culture, and Creative Economy, led by the Commissioner, Professor Rasaki Ojo Bakare, a renowned artistic director in Africa.

Adebimpe Adedimeji, who hails from Ijero-Ekiti, expressed excitement about the project, stating that she and her husband are fully committed to ensuring its success.

The couple pledged to dedicate their utmost attention to the production, which will highlight Ekiti towns and villages as major filming locations.

The film is expected to involve several talented actors, including those of Ekiti origin, as it seeks to showcase the cultural heritage and history of the region.
