Controversial Nollywood actor Yul Edochie has expressed his commitment to his traditional roots.
In a recent post on his Instagram account, Yul Edochie shared a photo of himself dressed in traditional attire, identifying himself as a “Hardcore Traditionalist.”
Yul condemned the trend of Africans shying away from their ancestral beliefs, labeling it an “abomination.”
He advocated for the recognition of traditional worshippers and encouraged Africans to reclaim their cultural legacy.
He also reaffirmed his commitment to the principles of his ancestors, which he believes are founded on truth, transparency, and fairness.
He wrote:
“Because of fear of what people will say, Africans are running away from their powerful African religion, their originality.

Yul Edochie had earlier revealed that the neglect of traditions is the cause of untimely deaths .
He noted that the shift away from indigenous traditions and towards foreign religions, which began with the westernization of the country, has had unintended consequences.
Yul Edochie suggested that the abandonment of traditional practices has led to powerful spirits getting angry, resulting in dire consequences.
The actor urged Nigerians to reconsider their cultural heritage and embrace their traditional roots.
He emphasized the importance of honoring and respecting the customs and practices that have been passed down through generations.
“Too many premature deaths these days. Young people dying in their twenties, thirties, forties. It is not normal. It is happening because we have abandoned our traditional ways and embraced the ways of oyinbo people.
“The spirits that protect many of us and our lands are angry because they have been relegated. We must go back to our traditional ways, which are very pure and powerful,” he wrote.
