Selena Gomez faces deportation threat

Grammy-winning singer and actress,Selena Gomez is facing calls for her deportation from the United States following her outspoken comments on the recent ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) raids that took place across the country.

The controversy began after Selena Gomez shared an emotional video on her Instagram, where she expressed sympathy for the children and families affected by the nationwide raids.

During her post, she tearfully said, “I’m so sorry. All my people are getting attacked. The children, I don’t understand. I wish I could do something. I will try everything, I promise.”

Selena Gomez, who has Mexican heritage, was reacting to the sweeping arrests carried out by ICE on January 28, 2025, which resulted in over 1,100 illegal immigrants being apprehended across the nation.

The raids, which have sparked widespread outrage, particularly over their impact on children, have been met with both support and fierce criticism.

However, one particularly harsh reaction came from Sam Parker, a former U.S. Senate candidate, who took to social media to call for Gomez’s deportation.

“Deport Selena Gomez. She picked illegals over America because she’s the 3rd gen descendant of Mexican illegals who received citizenship in the ’87 Amnesty,” Parker wrote.

“She has entitlement attitude toward America, like her illegal parents. Maybe Selena should be deported, too?”

The call for deportation quickly gained attention, drawing both criticism and support online.

While some agreed with Parker’s views, many others rallied behind Gomez, defending her right to express compassion for immigrant families, especially those with children.
