Peter Obi congratulates Tems on Grammy win
  • Peter Obi celebrated Tems for her victory at 67th annual Grammy awards.
  • He also congratulated other Nigerian artists who were nominated in various categories despite missing out on the awards.

The 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, has congratulated Nigerian singer, Tems, on her victory at the 67th annual Grammy Awards.

Recall that Tems’ song “Love Me Jeje” won the Best African Music Performance award, beating out other notable Nigerian artists such as Yemi Alade, Asake, Wizkid, and Burna Boy.

Tems had received three nominations at this year’s Grammys, bringing her career nomination to a total of eight. Her big win at this year’s Grammys makes it her second Grammy win because in 2023, she won the Best Melodic Rap Performance category for her contribution to the hit song, ‘Wait for U’, with Future and Drake.

In a statement shared on his X handle, Peter Obi praised Tems for securing her second Grammy Award and acknowledged the achievements of other Nigerian artists who were nominated in various categories.
