Wunmi reveals how she met Mohbad at 13, addresses family rift
  • Wunmi, widow of late Nigerian singer Mohbad has revealed she met the late singer on 2go when she was 13 years old, while Mohbad was 15.
  • She addressed the ongoing rift with Mohbad’s father, Joseph Aloba, stating that family issues existed before the singer’s passing and have worsened since.
  • Wunmi shared that Mohbad attempted to resolve family tensions while he was alive, but conflicts persisted.
  • She expressed disappointment that her father-in-law publicly discussed the paternity of her son, Liam, instead of reaching out to her privately.

Wunmi, the widow of late Nigerian singer Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, has shared new details about her relationship with the singer.

In a recent appearance on TVC’s Your View, Wunmi revealed that she met Mohbad at the age of 13 on the social media platform 2go.

She explained that the singer was 15 at the time, and their friendship eventually turned into a romantic relationship in 2018.

“I met Mohbad 12 years ago on 2go when I was 13. He was 15 then. We started as friends, but our relationship became official in 2018,” she said.

During the interview, Wunmi also addressed her strained relationship with Mohbad’s father, Joseph Aloba.

She noted that there were already family disputes before her husband’s passing, which have only worsened since then.

“My father-in-law used to be my friend, but before my husband died, there were some family issues. Right now, everyone thinks it’s about justice for Mohbad, but deep down, it’s a family dispute,” she stated.

She added that Mohbad had tried to mend the rift before his demise, but the conflicts persisted.

Wunmi further expressed her disappointment over the public discussions regarding the paternity of her son, Liam. She criticized Mohbad’s father for bringing up the DNA test issue online instead of speaking to her privately.

“I expected my father-in-law to call me privately about the DNA issue, but instead, he went online talking about it,” she lamented.
