Please forgive your dad, he is sick and needs help – Fans reach out to Asake

Some say blood demands forgiveness, others say absence has its own price. In the space between, Asake must choose what debt, if any, he is willing to pay

Fans of internationally acclaimed Afrobeats star Ahmed Ololade, known as Asake, have flooded his social media, pleading on behalf of his alleged father, Fatai Odunsi Ahmed, who tearfully spoke out about abandonment and his struggle with a stroke.

WITHIN NIGERIA earlier reported that Mr Fatai, now facing impaired movement, begged for financial assistance, revealed that his world shattered in March 2022, the same period he last saw Asake.

In a viral video, he recounted desperate attempts to reach his son, spoke of unanswered calls and a silence that grew heavier with time.

Conflicting accounts have since emerged. Some claim Fatai turned his back on Asake as a child, while others insist he was always present, argued and claimed that Asake’s mother, who left and later returned, is the one who is receiving all the love now.

As conversations intensify, emotions pour into Asake’s most recent Instagram post, where fans and concerned voices call his attention to the viral video of his alleged father’s plea.

One comment after another, heartfelt messages fill his page, urging the singer to set aside resentment and extend compassion.

Many remind him that no matter what Mr. Fatai may have done, blood ties remain unshaken, and the true measure of a man is found in how he responds when life brings the past to his doorstep.

Few others took a different stance, insisting that Mr. Fatai’s suffering was the price of being an absent father. They argued that a man who once walked away should not expect mercy now that he is vulnerable.
