- The auxiliary nurse has remained a central figure in the swirling controversy surrounding Mohbad’s death, with her final moments by his side casting a long shadow of suspicion.
- Nurse Feyisayo revealed what transpired when she administered the injection, who summoned her, and the individuals present as the late singer fought his final battle.
The auxiliary nurse who attended to the late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, known as Mohbad, shared her version of the events surrounding his final hours while testifying before Justice C.A. Shotobi at the Coroner’s Court in Ikorodu, Lagos.
Feyisayo Ogedengbe stated that after giving him a tetanus injection, he began vomiting. She claimed his wife, Omowunmi, dismissed it as something he usually experienced after injections.
According to her, she had stepped out to get more medical supplies when a distress call informed her that the singer had started convulsing. Feyisayo said she was initially contacted on September 12, 2024, by Ayobami Sodiq, known as Spending, to treat him.
Arriving at his home in Lekki that afternoon, she observed swelling on his right hand and proceeded with the tetanus shot. After confirming he had an ulcer, she opted to use paracetamol instead of diclofenac.
The nurse explained that she administered 4ml of paracetamol diluted with 1ml of water, followed by a slow 10ml dose of ceftriaxone for infection treatment. As the latter was being given, she said Mohbad showed signs of discomfort and stood up to vomit.
She mentioned that only four people were in the room at the time, herself, the singer, his wife, and Ayobami. Concerned about his reaction, she questioned Omowunmi on why she had not mentioned his history with injections.
Realizing his condition was deteriorating, she and Ayobami rushed to get medication, but delays at a pharmacy slowed them down. She also claimed that when they finally reached a hospital, medical staff hesitated before attending to him, adding to the confusion.
Feisayo said the singer’s remains were later transported home before they proceeded to the Orchid Lekki Police Station to obtain a death certificate. From there, the authorities directed them to Ajiwe Police Station in Ajah for further reporting.
After cross-examinations by legal representatives for Mohbad’s family, his wife, and the state, the case was adjourned to March 21, 2024, for further hearing.
Her words in parts;
“After vomiting in the toilet, he returned to the room and sat on the floor, where I noticed the goosebumps on his body. I showed his wife (Omowunmi) the reaction, and she said it was his normal response to injections,
“After visiting another pharmacy and obtaining the necessary hydrocortisone injection and normal saline infusion, we returned to find Mohbad outside the house. By then, preparations were underway to take him to the hospital.
“Due to a lack of available vehicles and heavy traffic, Mohbad was transported to the hospital on a motorcycle, where he was later declared dead on arrival by the medical team.”
