Why Bobrisky didn’t honour House of Reps invitation – Crossdresser’s lawyer speaks
  • Crossdresser, Bobrisky’s lawyer revealed why Bobrisky wasn’t present at the House of Reps complex today, 30th September 2024.
  • He noted that Bobrisky was ill.

The recent absence of popular crossdresser, Bobrisky from a scheduled panel hearing at the National Assembly has sparked intense debate.

Bobrisky was summoned to address allegations of a ₦15 million bribe paid to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to drop his money laundering charge. However, his legal team headed by Barrister, Avwerosuoghene Omuvwie cited illness as the reason for his non-appearance.

The Commitee however questioned that he provided them with evidence from Bobrisky’s doctor on his health and the Lawyer said he had not such document.

This development comes amidst ongoing investigations into the bribery claims. The panel, convened to probe these allegations, sought Bobrisky’s testimony to shed light on the matter. Unfortunately, his absence has raised more questions than answers.

In light of Bobrisky’s absence, Verydarkman refused to divulge details of the recording that further implicated the crossdresser.

Still on the matter, Michael Anugwa, the Deputy Controller of the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) denied reports that he was suspended from his position.

Anugwa, who oversees the Medium Security Custodial Centre (MSCC) in Kirikiri, Lagos, where popular crossdresser Idris Okuneye, also known as Bobrisky, was held, clarified his position while speaking to the House of Representatives joint committee on financial crimes and reformatory institutions.

The committee is currently investigating allegations of bribery involving both the Nigerian Correctional Service and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

When asked about his suspension, Anugwa dismissed the report, tagging it as a social media suspension. He stated that he had not been officially notified of any suspension, saying, “It was a social media suspension. I wasn’t served a letter.”

Recall that in a statement signed by Ja’afaru Ahmed, the Secretary of the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire, and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB), he had announced that both Anugwa and Sikiru Adekunle, another Deputy Controller of Corrections at the MSCC, had been suspended. However, Anugwa’s comments suggest that this declaration wasn’t effective.
