Lagos amputee hawker, Mary Daniel, whose picture hawking water on Lagos traffic was transformed into a “beauty queen” for her 27th birthday photoshoot.
WITHIN NIGERIA recall that 26-year-old, Mary Daniel, who was amputated at age 11 said hunger will kill her, daughter and grandmother if she doesn’t hawk in Lagos traffic.
The single mother said her resolve not to beg on the streets turned her into a hawker of bottled water on the highways in Oshodi, one of Lagos’ busiest cities.
Nigerians responded to call to help her and in days, 14 million Naira was raised for the hardworking woman who wouldn’t let her condition hold her back.
Now, for her 27th birthday, kind Nigerians gave her a photoshoot, complete with professional makeup and styling.
The result is breathtaking and has people asking if it’s still the same woman.
