The Twitter handle of Nigeria’s First lady, Aisha Buhari, has been deactivated.
This comes hours after the Buhari-led government announced the suspension of the micro-blogging site’s operations in the country.
WITHIN NIGERIA recalls that the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, announced the suspension in a statement issued in Abuja on Friday, citing the persistent use of the platform for activities that are capable of undermining Nigeria’s corporate existence.
A quick search on Twitter for her handle shows it has been deactivated.
