Passengers returning from burial escape death as two vehicles plunge into swamp in Enugu

Tragedy averted as a bus conveying passengers from a burial ceremony and a Corolla car plunged into a swamp along Nike-Opi Road in Enugu State.

According to an eyewitness, Ferdinand Abugu, all the passengers were rescued in the accident that happened on Friday evening, August 26, 2022.

Abugu said, “This accident happened this evening along the Nike -Opi road, around Ekwegbe. The bus was coming back from a burial at Alor Uno or so, the bus belongs to EFAC UNEC. The Corolla car seems to have lost control while avoiding a porthole and hit the bus and both of them entered the swamp. Thank God no life was lost as all the passengers were rescued.”
