Isah Liman Kantigi, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Niger State, has issued a death threat to voters who intend to collect his money during the election without voting for him.
Kantigi issued the threat while addressing his supporters in a viral video, stating that he is a generous man and that voters should reciprocate the same act to him at the polls, according to PUNCH.
In the viral video, the PDP governorship candidate addressed his supporters in English and Hausa, threatening those who would betray him during the election with serious consequences.
Kantigi warned that those who accept his money without voting for him will suffer from nightmares, cold, and eventually death.
He said:
If I give you and you spend it, from today, you will be receiving some kind of dream. After receiving the dreams, the next thing is that you will start feeling cold and after that, you will lose your life.
Kantigi served as the ex-Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs to former Governor Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu.
The PDP candidate made headlines recently after donating two electricity transformers to the Dangana and Duma communities in Lapai.
His growing popularity in Niger State was put to the test in November when his candidacy was challenged by a disgruntled party member, Sani Idris Kutigi.
On Thursday, a Federal High Court in Abuja confirmed him as the PDP’s valid governorship candidate for the Niger governorship elections in 2023.
In a decision, Justice Zainab Abubakar dismissed the plaintiff’s suit for lack of merit.
