A recent video has surfaced online showing a group of women receiving N1000 notes in envelopes and being urged by a man to accept the obsolete legal tender.

The women had stated that the old notes are no longer acceptable but the man stated otherwise.

Although the face of the man speaking is not shown in the video, he can be heard clearly in Yoruba language, telling the women to accept the old notes and spend it.

He went on to tell the women to pray for the governor to be reelected, which they did while pocketing the cash. Reacting to the video, many knocked the women for accepting the obsolete money and praised the government for curbing vote buying. See below:
