A woman identified as Bina Jennifer Efidi has narrated her dreadful experience in the hands of thugs who attacked her polling unit in Lagos.
Jennifer Efidi who is being called a hero of Saturday’s elections for returning to vote despite a brutal attack by the hoodlums opened up in an interview with BBC news pidgin.
The incident was said to have occurred at a polling unit in the Surulere area of the state. According to Jennifer, voting was going on without any security agent at her polling unit when thugs stormed the location, destroyed election materials and injured voters.
The woman said she was running away with others when she felt a pain on her face, gunshot sounds after, and then assumed she had been shot. She then placed her hand on her face and saw blood running down her hand.
Jennifer added that people assured her that she wasn’t shot and she went to the hospital to treat herself. On returning from the hospital, she chose to go back to her polling unit to cast her vote because it’s important to her. Watch her speak below:
