Ogun state governor Dapo Abiodun has announced plans to shut down the state after winning Saturday’s gubernatorial election.
WITHIN NIGERIA reports that Abiodun, who is seeking re-election, made the announcement when seeking votes in the upcoming election.
In a viral snippet, the governor assured residents that they’ll have a chance to celebrate with him after the election, adding that everyone will drink whiskey and beer.

I’ll Arrest Anybody Who Intimidates My Supporters
Dapo Abiodun, meanwhile, threatened to order the arrest of anyone who threatened his supporters during governorship and House of Assembly elections in the state.
Abiodun made the threat on Sunday at his country home in Iperu-Remo, Ikenne Local Government Area of the state, while speaking with his supporters.
Addressing in Yoruba, the governor urged his supporters and members of the All Progressive Congress (APC) not to yield to any form of intimidation on Election Day.
As the state’s chief security officer, Abiodun said he would order the arrest of anyone who threatened supporters in Saturday’s election.
He also claimed that ahead of Saturday’s elections, the opposition had begun pumping political thugs into the Iperu-Remo township, promising to deal with them.
