A heavy protest has erupted in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State after a tricycle (Keke) rider reportedly stabbed his male passenger to death.
The incident, which happened at the Saptex junction of the ever busy Mbiama-Yenagoa road at about 5pm on Wednesday, caused heavy gridlock at the expressway, with many people running for safety as the mob moved towards the Amarata axis.
The Keke rider, who is said to be from the Northern part of the country allegedly stabbed the young man in his lower abdomen after they had an argument over N50 change. The victim died on the spot.
The suspect attempted to flee before he was apprehended by the mob.
According to an Eye witness, in the video making the rounds, claimed some angry youths at the scene attacked the Keke rider and set other tricycles ablaze.

Residents have hence blocked major roads in the city to express their anger as they are seen in a viral clip chanting “Aboki must go”.
