The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) has responded to reports that it suspended a young female lawyer named Ifunanya Delilah for posting photos of herself either naked or smoking marijuana on social media.
WITHIN NIGERIA reports that an online platform (not this publication) claimed that Ifunaya, a young female lawyer admitted to the bar on July 28, 2021, was suspended by the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) for misconduct.
However, when asked about the development, the NBA denied the report, claiming that it never happened.
Since her controversial photos surfaced online, Ifunanya has been a source of contention.
The NBA’s leadership confirmed to the DAILY POST on Wednesday that she had not been penalized.
Habeeb Lawal, the National Publicity Secretary, stated that the information implying that action has been taken is completely false.
No, we have not suspended her, we have not. However, we will issue a position on the matter, the spokesperson added.
