The Bauchi State leader of the Labour Party (LP) has praised the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for making the error that led to the expulsion of former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi from the party.
WITHIN NIGERIA reports that the LP chieftain made this known while speaking at a PDP retreat for elected officials in Bauchi State.
When asked to speak at the event, the party leader stated in a snippet that if the PDP had not made the mistake of allowing Peter Obi to leave the party, the 35 members elected in the 10th Assembly would not have happened.
Remember that Peter Obi, who was considered one of the top candidates for the PDP presidential ticket, left the party just three days before the party’s presidential primary election.
He later joined the LP to run for president in 2023 but was defeated by All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate Bola Tinubu.
Surprisingly, Peter Obi’s presence in the LP helped some members win elections to the National Assembly and House of Representatives.
