UK based Nigerian doctor accused of rape by his ex girlfriend finally acquitted

According to reports Olufunmilayo and Bolanle had met on twitter, dated for a while before Olufunmilayo agreed to bring her over to the UK.


After a three-year legal battle, a UK based Nigerian doctor with the name Dr Olufunmilayo popularly known on twitter as @ourfavonlinedoctor has been acquitted of rape charges by a court in the UK.

The accuser was the doctor’s ex-girlfriend, who goes by the name Dr Bolanle Aseyan.

According to reports Olufunmilayo and Bolanle had met on twitter, dated for a while before Olufunmilayo agreed to bring her over to the UK.

Getting to the UK, Olufunmilayo saw some traits in her that he couldn’t put up with and decided to end the relationship.

Dr Bolanle out of bitterness, filed a case against him accusing him of rape and domestic violence, went to the UK general medical council with the aim to have his license withdrawn.

The trial lasted for about three years and in those years doctor Olufunmilayo was out of social media, with his career halted and finances severally strained

However, after a rigorous investigation and a thorough analysis of the evidence presented in court, the jury delivered the verdict of acquittal with the MPTS declaring him fit to practice as a doctor

In another story, a Nigerian man had publicly begged his ex-girlfriend to take him back, blames close friends for their breakup

The former President of National Union of Benue State Students, NUBESS, took to Facebook on Friday, January 14, to narrate how he met Joyce and what led to their split.

The Benue State University graduate wrote; “My close friends are the reason for my break up, am missing Orbunde Member Joyce but don’t know how to approach her after all. Plssss advice me on how to have her back.”
