The Akwa-Ibom native cooked for 100 hours to beat the 87 hours 45 minutes record previously set by Lata Tondon, the Indian chef, in 2019. Hilda Baci was certified by the British reference book in June but with a time of 93 hours 11 minutes.
Hilda Baci’s impressive achievement sparked a wave of desire among some Nigerians to break her cooking record, while others, including individuals from neighboring Cameroon, aimed to set Guinness world records in different fields.
From events like ‘Kiss-a-thon,’ massaging, lecturing, praise and worship gatherings, to even attempting a cry-a-thon,, talk-a-thon ‘sex-a-thon,’ various endeavors were made to break Guinness world records.
