- Pulsating visuals capturing impassioned UNICAL students staging a protest on the school premises over alleged sexual harassment by their Dean, have sparked an explosive array of reactions across the online landscape.
- The disgruntled students have leveled allegations against their Dean, claiming that he sexually harassed them and issued threats. This comes a few years after the School suspended and subsequently reinstated him for similar accusations.
With a surge of fervor, University of Calabar’s law department students, staged a protest aimed squarely at their dean, the distinguished Prof. Cyril Ndifon.
In a resounding declaration, they hurled forth grave accusations, boldly asserting that the Dean callously subjected them to the harrowing ordeal of sexual harassment, accompanied by ominous threats.
Also the students, in viral video, raised claims of encountering suppression from the institution’s authorities.
Prof. Ndifon had previously been ousted from his role as the Dean of Law due to accusations of a heinous nature in 2016.
In a distressing incident on August 29, 2015, he was alleged to have sexually assaulted a 20-year-old student (whose identity remains confidential) in his faculty after summoning her to his office.
However, the University of Calabar (UNICAL) controversially reinstated him as the Dean of its law faculty in 2022.
