Ifunanya Excel Grant breaks silence on NBA petition over social media lifestyle

Ifunanya Excel Grant, a popular model and controversial lawyer, has broken her silence regarding the Nigerian Bar Association’s (NBA) petition against her over her social media lifestyle.

The petition led to her being summoned before the Legal Practitioners Disciplinary Committee.

Previously, the Abia branch of the NBA distanced itself from Grant, denying any affiliation with her. Grant, who is often referred to as the ‘Baddest Lawyer,‘ had chosen not to address the matter until now.

In a video that has since surfaced online, Grant stated that she pursued a law degree in university but has not practiced law and does not intend to do so in the future. She emphasized that she identifies herself as a model, actress, and an upcoming rap artist.

Grant clarified that the controversial media content attributed to her on Twitter was not posted by her. She asserted that she does not have an account on the platform, dispelling any connection to the tweets that have caused controversy.

In her words;

“My official statement to the NBA and Nigerians. Please, I’m not the one on Twitter, I have never been on Twitter. I have been silent for so long because I’m not the type to talk too much, but it’s finally time I speak up and clear my name. Dearest @Nigerianbar, I don’t bother anyone. I’m a model, actress, and musician, and all I do is live, mind my business, and chase my dreams. Please, kindly leave me alone. Thanks.”

In similar news, The Aba State branch of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) has strongly refuted claims that Ifunanya Excel Grant, popularly known as the ‘Baddest Lawyer,’ is a member of their association.

The denial was communicated through a formal statement issued by Innocent O. Egwu, Esq., the Chairman of the NBA in Aba, along with Secretary Mazi K.C. Okoro.
