This debate began with a tweet from a user who expressed her frustration with women focusing all of their material on finding a man. Responding to this, Solomon Buchi defended women’s autonomy, highlighting the fact that feminism is about empowering people to make their own decisions.
But then things changed when Ozzie Etomi made disparaging remarks on Twitter, seemingly in disagreement with Solomon Buchi’s assertion. While omitting his name, she implied that he constantly monitors women’s behavior, implying that his wife must be fed up with him wasting time looking for trending tweets about women while she toils diligently to provide for the family. It was widely believed that Ozzie’s comments were directed at Solomon Buchi because of the situation and the frequency with which he tweets about women.
Solomon Buchi replied that she was lonely and divorced and accused her of trying to force other people into the same predicament. He painted her as an old, depressed, and lonely feminist who had failed to keep her marriage intact and was now attempting to sabotage other people’s happiness.
Solomon Buchi went so far as to age-shame Ozzie, he stated that she is old, miserable, and divorced, while he is 28, happily married, and successful.
