- The dissemination of explicit images and videos featuring a four-year-old girl, shared by a father based in Edo State on social media, has ignited widespread outrage and condemnation throughout the nation.
- Following these disturbing actions, the accused father was promptly apprehended by authorities, who sought to understand the motivations behind his reprehensible behavior
Musa Suleman, the young man detained in Edo for exploiting his four-year-old daughter in alleged provocative content creation, recently claims he aimed to propel her into celebrity status.
Suleman’s arrest on Sunday was stemmed from allegations of sharing semi-nude photos and videos of his daughter on social media.
The case was initiated after a concerned user on X brought the inappropriate content to the attention of Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the police spokesperson.
Adejobi confirmed the arrest, mentioning that the Edo state police command intends to provide “counseling” to the father instead of immediately pursuing legal charges.
During police questioning, Suleman contended that he set up the Instagram account with the aim of putting his daughter in the spotlight as a model.
He asserted that his motives were innocent and that he harbored ambitions of propelling her into stardom, not causing any harm.
“I was arrested because of what people were commenting on my daughter’s page on Instagram for her upcoming birthday,” he said
“I posted the videos on her page. I don’t mean to harm anybody because I am also used to watching people doing content creation, comedy and other things.
“But I think she is too small and she cannot be doing comedy. So I decided to bring her up in the model way, making her wear model dresses and showing her as a model.
“This month is her birthday, May 28. She will be turning four years old. To my own understanding, I wanted her to become a celebrity.”
Simi, the singer, had earlier criticised the police’s method of handling the case.
