How Funke Akindele allegedly prevented Toyin Abraham from featuring in blockbuster movie, ‘Chief Daddy’

Toyin Abraham was subsequently replaced with Kate Henshaw.

Blogger Cutie Julls reveals how notable filmmaker Mo Abudu faced internal conflicts during the casting of her film “Chief Daddy.”

The blog claimed that initially, actress Toyin Abraham was slated for a role and received her full payment and script. However, Funke Akindele allegedly pressured Mo Abudu to remove Toyin from the cast, threatening to withdraw from the project herself if her demand wasn’t met.

This led to Mo Abudu diplomatically securing a refund from Toyin and replacing her with Kate Henshaw.

The relationship between Mo Abudu and Funke Akindele, once very close, reportedly soured after Mo shared comments Funke made about Beverly Osu with Beverly herself. Funke distanced herself from Mo following this incident.

Cutie Julls emphasized the importance of separating personal conflicts from professional work, suggesting that individuals should not interfere with others’ opportunities for personal reasons.

The blogger revealed that Funke nearly succeeded in having Beverly Osu removed from the project, but Joke Silva’s intervention prevented this. Tensions escalated, with Funke and Beverly almost engaging in a physical altercation.

Beverly was reportedly upset because she believed she had no personal issues with Funke, aside from a disagreement over a pay raise for her role in “Jenifa’s Diary,” which Funke refused. Consequently, Beverly quit that project.

The report reads:

“I remember that time when Mo Abudu was casting CHIEF DADDY.

From very reliable source in Aunty Mo’s production team, Toyin was originally listed . They sent her full payment, script and all only for Funke to tell Aunty Mo to decast Toyin or she [Funke] will not be part of the movie.

That was how Aunty Mo had to use diplomacy to collect a refund from Toyin.

She then replaced Toyin with Kate. You know Aunty Mo and Funke were very very close until after she told Beverly Osu what Funke said about her and then when Funke heard it, she took a little distance from her. Anyway that’s just by the way.

But the main issue here is that people should allow people get their daily bread and keep personal beef’s aside. It’s not like people have to be close paddies before they can work together.

Funke nearly succeeded in making Aunty Mo decast Beverly if not the intervention of Aunty Joke Silva. Funke and Bev nearly fought physical on that job cuz Bev got furious when she heard it.

Because to her, she had no issues with Aunty Funke. The only issue was that she asked for pay increase on the Jeniffer’s diary job and Funke said no she can’t increase and so she Bev, quit”.
