Disturbing video of Police officer and cab driver struggling on steering trends online, netizens react

  • A viral video shows a policeman wrestling for control of a cabbie’s steering wheel while the vehicle is moving.
  • Uploaded by Light Orji on Snapchat, it depicts the officer gripping the cabbie’s neck.
  • The lady who jumped from the vehicle described it as a traumatic experience. 

A video circulating online captures a disturbing altercation between a policeman and a cabbie, where the officer appears to wrestle for control of the steering wheel while the vehicle is in motion.

Uploaded by Light Orji on Snapchat, the footage depicts the officer gripping the cabbie’s neck, ostensibly in an attempt to prevent his escape.

However, details regarding the location and circumstances leading to the confrontation remain unclear.

According to Orji, she was compelled to leap from the moving vehicle after her pleas for the officer to desist were ignored.

She recounted her ordeal in the caption accompanying the video:

“Had the most traumatic experience today, literally had to jump off the vehicle, stupid police man was strangling my uber guy while he was driving on full speed.”

In response to the video, Prince Olumuyiwa, the spokesperson for the Nigerian Police Force, addressed the incident.

He posted on X, calling upon the police complaint response unit to launch a thorough investigation into the matter.
