  • A TikTok user identified as @chintincharles has questioned why veteran singer, Onyeka Onwenu was buried in Lagos State.
  • The lady stressed that Onyeka Onwenu who hails from Imo State ought to have been buried in her hometown as Igbo tradition demands and going against this appears contrary to norms.

Following the burial of music icon Onyeka Onwenu, a lot of questions have arisen as regards the burial location of the late entertainer.

In a video shared on TikTok, a lady identified as @chintincharles asked why Onyeka Onwenu was buried in Lagos instead of her home state, Imo.

She noted that although Imo people are of the view that the ‘earth is one’, Igbo tradition demands that she should be buried in her state.

Speaking further, the woman who thought aloud, suggested that the reason for Onyeka being buried in Lagos could be due to the fact that she married a Yoruba man who was also a Muslim. However, she avowed that the couple separated and Onyeka Onwenu was quite private with her personal life.

The lady also envisaged that the decision to bury Onyeka Onwenu in Lagos could also be a resolve among her children and not necessarily her wish.
