  • As the bill was about to be brought, the man and his friend suddenly fled, leaving the woman humiliated and responsible for the exorbitant cost.
  • The man further justified his actions online, claiming he felt financially exploited, hence his move.

A recent viral saga has unfolded where a young man infamously abandoned his date with a staggering N69,000 restaurant bill.

The link-up initially envisioned as a luxurious dinner date at a high-end Lagos restaurant, took a shocking turn when the man suddenly vanished, leaving his date and her friend to bear the exorbitant cost.

According to reports, the man, identified as @olayinka.brain on TikTok, had invited his date to chill off with him but she invited her friends. However, just as the bill was about to be settled, the man and his friend excused themselves and fled, never to return.

Left bewildered and humiliated, the woman was forced to cover the substantial bill herself. The incident quickly gained traction on social media, sparking widespread outrage and criticism directed at the man.

In an attempt to mitigate the backlash, the man took to social media to share his side of the story. His viral post revealed a startling justification for his actions.

“I saw you online and met you; I sent you N10K instead of N500 for transport fare. You didn’t tell me you would come to the date with your friend and I had drank herbs hoping for some fun. We were at the bar, you don’t know my aza balance; you and your friend ordered up to N50K while me and my friend order asun with Hollandia yoghurt and you expect me not to run?”
