Man wrongfully jailed for 10 years while charging his laptop finally released

A young Nigerian man, identified as Junior, has been released from prison after spending 10 years in imprisonment for a crime he didn’t commit.

His arrest, which occurred in 2014, was the result of a police raid at his friend’s house, where Junior had gone to charge his laptop.

He was reportedly branded a criminal and sentenced to await trial, a process that stretched on for a decade.

The touching story of Junior’s release was shared on the microblogging platform X by a netizen, @Ayodejixon, who expressed shock and dismay over the long period of suffering the man endured for a crime he never committed.
