World’s oldest man, John Tinniswood, passes away at 112
  • The world’s oldest man, John Alfred Tinniswood, has died at 112 years old.
  • GWR confirmed his death on their official X page on November 26, 2024.
  • Tinniswood passed away peacefully on November 25, 2024, at a care home in Southport, northwest England.

John Alfred Tinniswood, the world’s oldest man, has reportedly passed away at the age of 112.

The Guinness World Records (GWR) confirmed his death on Tuesday, November 26, through an announcement on their official X page.

Tinniswood, born on August 26, 1912, in Liverpool, spent his final years at a care home in Southport, northwest England.

He peacefully passed on Monday, November 25, surrounded by love and music, according to his family.

In April 2023, Tinniswood was recognized as the world’s oldest living man following the death of Venezuelan Juan Vicente Perez, who was 114 years old.

GWR expressed their condolences in a statement:

“We’re saddened to learn of the passing of John Tinniswood, who has died aged 112. John, who became the world’s oldest man earlier in 2024, died at the care home he resided at in Southport, UK.”

His family expressed deep gratitude to the caregivers who supported him throughout his later years, noting that his final moments were peaceful and filled with warmth.

In other news, University of Jos (UNIJOS) oldest student, Haruna Aminu Ali, known as Bojo, has finally graduated after spending almost 20 years in the school.

Bojo, who gained admission to UNIJOS in 2005, recently successfully completed all his coursework, earning him a Bachelor of Science degree in Special Education in a ceremony held in 2023.

The joy was evident as he proudly posed with his long-awaited certificate from the Department of Special Education…
