  • Almost two years after the devastating tragedy that rocked his family, the boy behind the viral “mummy calm down” video is back in the spotlight.
  • After his mother’s mysterious death and his father’s arrest under suspicious circumstances, the young boy has completely disappeared from the public eye.

Oreofeoluwa Lawal-Babalola, the little boy whose heartfelt plea “Mummy, calm down” went viral in 2020, has left the public gripped with unease as his whereabouts remain unknown months after the devastating events that rocked his life.

In 2023, the shocking and tragic news surfaced that his mother, Mrs. Toluige Olokoobi, took her own life in Benin, Edo State, under circumstances that have yet to be revealed.

The tragedy was compounded when Oreofeoluwa’s father was arrested and held for questioning in connection with the incident. Since that time, the boy, once a symbol of innocence, has been eerily absent from public view, with no updates or sightings to quell the growing concern.

Questions about Oreofeoluwa’s whereabouts were ignited on Starstories through a TikTok video, stirring deep concern for his well-being now that he is no longer with his parents.

In the comments, netizens voiced their anxiety, fearing for the boy’s safety and future in light of the unsettling silence surrounding his life.

In 2020, the internet was captivated by a teary-eyed yet remarkably composed little boy who, in the face of his mother’s scolding, uttered the now-iconic plea: “Mummy, calm down. Give me a last chance.”

With those words, Oreofeoluwa Lawal-Babalola didn’t just melt hearts, he became a symbol of innocence, charm, and unexpected wisdom far beyond his years.

The video resonated so deeply that Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu referenced Oreofeoluwa’s words in his Eid-el-Kabir message, where he urged citizens to remain calm in the face of the COVID-19 crisis.
