- Senator Natasha Akpoti, following her squabble with Akpabio, now stands on the precipice of a deeper, more dangerous abyss, one that could obliterate her political career
- A petition, seething with grave criminal allegations, has surfaced, its contents delivered with a sharp precision to her superiors in the National Assembly
The Northern Youth Advocacy for Excellence (NOYAD) petitioned the Senate committee to launch a thorough investigation into Lawmaker Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, the representative of Kogi Central.
In a dramatic twist, Natasha herself shared the petition on Instagram on February 27, laying bare the damning allegations against her.
The accusations are not mere whispers, they are sharp, pointed claims of verifiable corrupt practices, the freezing of accounts, and the criminal diversion of committee impress allocations.
The petition further paints a grim picture of power misused, citing usurpation of committee duties, suppression of committee staff rights, and the alleged intimidation and harassment of the Local Content Committee Clerk, Mrs. Edith Ajah.
The petition reads in part;
“PETITION AGAINST SENATOR NATASHA UDUAGHAN-AKPOTI: REQUEST TO INVESTIGATE AND DISCIPLINE THE SENATOR OVER CORRUPTION, BREACH OF TRUST AND VICTIMISATION OF LOCAL CONTENT COMMITTEE STAFF
“The Northern Youth Advocacy for Excellence (NOYAD) hereby calls on your cateemed Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges and Public Petition to investigate Senator Natasha Uduaghan-Akpoti over verifiable corrupt practices, accounts freezing and criminal diversion of committee impress allocations, usurpation of Committee duties, stifling of rights of committee staff as well as intimidation and harassment of Local Content committee Clerk, Mrs Edith Ajah”
In her caption, Natasha vowed to go live on a popular news channel, promised to speak more on everything that transpired between her and Senate President Godswill Akpabio.
She wrote;
“Good morning courageous people of Kogi central, Kogi state and Nigeria.
This petition came to my notice a few hours ago.
“In as much as I have refrained from publicly speaking on the matter and a lot of occurrences at the Senate under Senate President Akpabi, it’s about time I break my silence.
“Arise News, set a date (from Saturday March 1st 2025) and I shall be in your studio in person. Spear no questions.
And to Nigerians, please be sure to join the probe which I shall insist would be covered live.
“The next few days and weeks shall be
interesting but will shape the standard and quality of Nigeria’s leadership.”

The lawmaker had on February 20 disrupted plenary by rejecting her assigned seat, defying Akpabio’s order and repeatedly raising a point of order despite being overruled.
During plenary on February 25, Akpabio described the altercation as stemming from a lack of understanding of senate guidelines and directed the national assembly management to organise periodic orientation for senators.
