Police detain pastor’s wife, confirm death of native doctor who allegedly died after sleeping with her

The Nigerian police have confirmed the death of a popular Ekiti native doctor who lost his life shortly after intercourse with a pastor’s wife at an hotel in Ikere Ekiti, Ekiti State.

The late Ifa priest identified as Fadayomi Kehinde, best known as Ejiogbe, reportedly lodged at an hotel with a woman said to be the wife of the shepherd of a white garment church in the same town on Monday, January 2, 2023.

According to reports, immediately after the duo had sexual relations, the herbalist was said to have slumped, prompting the lady to call for help from the hotel room.

It was gathered that hotel staff and some associates of the herbalist rushed him to a hospital where he was confirmed dead.

Associates of the late native doctor were alleged to have attributed his death to “magun” — (also Thunderbolt) a local charm placed on married women by their husbands to harm lovers who sleep with them.

The aggrieved supporters of the late herbalist were said to have stormed the church where the husband of the lady is the shepherd and vandalized it in anger.

Confirming the incident, the Ekiti State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abut Sunday on a telephone interview confirmed the incident of the death of one Kehinde Fadayomi, who was rushed to an hospital from hotel he lodged and was confirmed dead by the hospital.

DSP Abut Sunday added that, the autopsy result is yet to be out to ascertain the cause of death but the suspect (the woman) with the deceased is still held in held in protective custody to facilitate investigation and also to protect her from the angry youths. He added:

“The remains of the deceased have been deposited in the morgue of the Ekiti State Specialist Hospital in Ikere.”
