Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Patrick Agbazue, officer in charge of State Criminal and Investigation and the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID) annex Awkuzu in Anambra State, and his squad have been arrested and transferred to Abuja, the nation’s capital.

The reason for their arrest and transfer has been linked to allegations of misconduct, abuse of power, and violation of human rights.

According to reports, CSP Agbazue and his team were accused of extorting money from motorists and traders around Onitsha and its environs. They were also accused of kidnapping, subjecting innocent citizens to inhumane treatment, including torture and unlawful detention.

The Nigeria Police Force confirmed that it is investigating some senior police officers linked to killings and kidnapping in Anambra State.

The Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi said that the Force Headquarters is aware of the case and already investigating it with all seriousness it deserved. He said:

“The Force Headquarters is aware of this case. We are looking into it with all the seriousness it deserves.

“The IP personally has stepped into the case, and we hope to speak, officially, to the matter. Pls be calm while we take necessary action. Thanks.”

Recall Instagram blogger, Gistlover had days ago accused the CSP, including an SP Princess Nwode and SPO Harrison for being in the know about the deaths and kidnapping happening around Anambra state.

Netizens had also confirmed the allegations and called for the aforementioned arrests.

Sharing videos of when CSP Patrick and his crew were arrested, Gistlover wrote:
