  • In the heart of Ibadan, a white-garment church has shattered the silence surrounding the unsettling rumors that its members met untimely deaths due to a feast enjoyed during service.
  • The church leader, along with his dedicated assistants, courageously stepped into the spotlight to confront the mounting speculations that have plagued the congregation.
  • With heavy hearts, they revealed the complex factors that led to these tragic events, emphasizing that the circumstances surrounding the deaths were more nuanced than the sensational claims circulating in the community.

A Celestial church located in Apata, Ido LGA, Ibadan is at the center of a devastating storm, thrust into the headlines after the shocking deaths of few members.

At least five individuals reportedly died after participating in a ‘Love Feast’—a cherished event affectionately known as “Ipese—following the church service on September 22.

This tragic incident has ignited a wildfire of speculation, with many in the community pointing fingers at the festive meal as the grim catalyst behind these untimely deaths.

In an urgent response to the frenzy of rumors and accusations, the church leader has bravely stepped forward to confront the situation head-on.

He emphatically dismissed the claims that the deaths were a direct result of the feast, asserting that while congregants did partake in the meal, none succumbed within the church’s walls. His declaration aimed to restore faith among the churchgoers and quell the rising tide of panic that has gripped the congregation and the surrounding community.

To reinforce his statements, other church members rallied in support, sharing their experiences of the feast. Some admitted to enjoying the celebratory meal and are hale and hearty, while others noted that the symptoms displayed by the deceased resembled those of cholera, not any adverse reactions from the feast.
