  • The controversy over NYSC member Raye’s criticism of President Tinubu rages on, sparking intense ripple effects.
  • A lady claiming to be a female corps member alleges that NYSC, where she serves, has issued two strict warnings in response to Raye’s actions.

An alleged corps member, Ada Owerri, has set the internet ablaze with fresh revelations following the uproar caused by Lagos NYSC member Ushie Rita Uguamaye, known as Raye, over her remarks about President Bola Tinubu.

Taking to X, Ada claimed that after Raye’s controversial clip went viral, NYSC officials swiftly gathered corps members and issued stern warnings.

According to her, they were ordered to put down their phones and were explicitly cautioned against making statements critical of the government if they valued their certificates.

Adding an ironic twist, she revealed in the comment section that corps members had been lured in under the pretense of receiving rice, only to be met with the warnings and sent home instead.

She wrote;

“They told everybody to put down their phones and gave us strict warning about speaking about the government if we want to collect our certificates. Oya nau.

“What’s funny is they told us to wait that they wanted to share rice for corpers only for them to address us with this and tell us to go home.”

Meanwhile, Nigerian activist-politician Omoyele Sowore, on Monday, exposed what he called a brazen display of cowardice by officials of the Local Government Inspector (LGI) office of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Lagos State.

He revealed that after summoning corps member Raye for questioning, the officials were nowhere to be found when she arrived.

Speaking to journalists at the scene, Sowore described their sudden disappearance as an embarrassing retreat, exposed their reluctance to confront the young woman they had demanded to see.
