Operatives of Lagos State Police Command have arrested two kidnappers and recovered two AK-47 rifles.

The police command also foiled an attempted kidnapping and armed robbery operations.

The kidnappers identified as 39-year-old Oyas Salvation who is a native of Bomadi Town Ikeremo LGA Delta State and 25-year-old Okoro Ebi who is a native of Safarogbo Village Ovia LGA Edo State were intercepted and arrested at Ojodu Berger area as they were about entering Lagos.

According to the police, the arrest was successful owing to credible intelligence recieved on 18/2/2021 that some Niger Delta militants are planning a come back of their kidnapping activities in Lagos.

The police disclosed that these militants are on their way to Lagos from Warri and Delta State and two kingpins have been arrested by special IRT teams assigned to monitor their movement.

The suspects

The police further revealed that two AK-47 rifles with S/nos: 10746 and 1053, 5 Magazines and 125 rounds of Ammunition were recovered from them.

Confessing to the crime, the suspects said they are coming to Lagos to resume their Kidnapping activities after relocating back to Niger Delta almost 3years ago.

They further confessed that their remaining Gang-members will arrived Lagos in 4 days time while 3 members are already in Lagos.

They further stated that one of their informants have already arranged on how they will kidnapped one Alhaji Demola Next weekend if not for their arrest today.
