As the battle against COVID-19 continues, Nigeria has recorded 542 new cases of the deadly virus in 19 states and the federal capital territory, Abuja.
This was announced by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) in its daily update on Monday, February 22, 2021.
According to the Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC), Lagos recorded 99 new cases, the highest for the day.
Other states with new cases include Kwara-91, Ebonyi-48, Ogun-44, Kaduna-42, Oyo-33, Ondo-25, FCT-24, Kebbi-23, Osun-20, Ekiti-17, Nasarawa-12, Imo-11, Delta-10, Gombe-9, Kano-8, Katsina-7, Rivers-7, Edo-5, Plateau-4 and Bauchi-3.
The agency also disclosed that they were 193 community recoveries in Lagos State and 113 in Kwara State.
According to NCDC, a backlog of deaths were recorded in Lagos State
Nigeria now has a total of 152,616 confirmed cases. 129,300 patients have been discharged so far with 1,862 deaths recorded.
