Nigeria’s Olufemi Badejo has been appointed the Trade and Investment Commissioner of the Republic of Vanuatu.
He is the only Nigerian to be appointed into such position by the Southwestern Pacific Ocean country.
Olufemi, who is the Managing Partner of Cersèi Partner, will represent the country in Nigeria.
Prior to his latest appointment, he was serving as the Trade and Investment Commissioner of Vanuatu to the Republic of South Africa.
His duty will be to facilitate bilateral relationships between Nigeria and the Republic of Vanuatu as well as facilitate trade and investment discussions between both countries.
Vanuatu is a South Pacific Ocean nation made up of roughly 80 islands that stretch 1,300 kilometers. The islands offer scuba diving at coral reefs, underwater caverns and wrecks such as the WWII-era troopship SS President Coolidge.
Harborside Port Vila, the nation’s capital and economic center, is on the island of Efate.
The Republic of Vanuatu was created in 1980. Since independence, the country has become a member of the United Nations, Commonwealth of Nations, Organisation internationale de la Francophonie and the Pacific Islands Forum.
