The Executive Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde and Aare Onakankafo of Yorubaland, Gani Adams, on Thursday met behind closed doors at the Oyo State Government House, Ibadan.
It was gathered that the meeting which lasted for about one and half hours may be connected to the security issues in the state.
Adams told journalists after the meeting that the visit was in honor of an earlier request by the six South-West Governors to fashion out ways of improving security in the region.
“The outcome of the meeting is not something that I can divulge in the media. But I can assure you that we have a fruitful meeting,” he said.
The OPC leader also stressed that the arraignment of some members of the Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC), who captured the suspected Fulani warlord, Iskilu Wakili terrorising the Ibarapa region was targeted to demoralise the boys.
Adams said “They did that deliberately to send cold shivers down our spines. But we shall not be discouraged.
“We believe that it is one of the sacrifices they have to make for the Yoruba zone because we do not have a nation yet. We will continue to do what we can.”
