President Muhammadu Buhari Tuesday hosted governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Ortom on Saturday was attacked by gunmen while returning from his farm in Tyomu community along Makurdi-Gboko highway, in Benue.
Buhari had on Sunday ordered security agencies to carry out what he called an “open and transparent” investigation into the attack.
Condemnations trailed the attack from governors and various groups across the country.
Speaking to State House Correspondents after the meeting, Governor Ortom said he was pleased with President Buhari’s reaction to the development, adding they shared ideas on how to manage the crisis trailing the development.
