The Nigeria Super Eagles’ team had their first training in Lagos ahead of this weekend’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Benin Republic, without in-form Leicester City forward Kelechi Iheanacho.
The Super Eagles play the Squirrels in the Group L fixture, knowing that a win would see them qualify for the tournament in Cameroon next year.
Coach Gernot Rohr took charge of the training, as all invited players participated in sessions that focused on ball work.
Rohr’s men will hold their second warm-up on Wednesday evening.
The first leg played at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo ended in defeat for Benin, with goals from Victor Osimhen and Samuel Kalu inspiring a 2-1 victory.
Nigeria lead Group L with eight points from four outings, while Benin are in second place with seven points.
