Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano state has stated that all Nigerians must become born again as far as national integration is concerned.
He stated this in his welcome address as at the 12th Bola Tinubu Colloquium in Kano.
The colloquium, organised to mark the 69th birthday of Tinubu, the national leader of the All Progressive Congress (APC), has as its theme: “Our common bond, our common wealth: The imperative of national cohesion for growth and prosperity”.
Ganduje admitted that the level of cohesion in Nigeria is currently at a very low point, saying that if nothing is done to change the narrative, the the divisive variables will pull the country down.
“As far as the issue of national integration is concerned, all Nigerians must be born again,” he said.
Among the numerous congratulatory messages, Lagos state Governor Sanwo-Olu wrote;
Hearty congratulations to our great leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu on the joyous occasion of his 69th birthday.
Asiwaju is a statesman and builder whose contribution to a progressive and democratic Nigeria can not be quantified.
Nigerian president Buhari, also wished the APC leader a happy birthday writing;
Happy 69th Birthday to Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. I pray for the best of health, happiness, strength and wisdom for one of the great pillars of our party, the All Progressives Congress (APC); and a sincere and passionate advocate for unity and cohesion in Nigeria.
It is a mark of true statesmanship that his birthday should be hosted in Kano and celebrated in this way, with a Colloquium that is a fitting reflection of the service that Asiwaju has given, to Lagos, Nigeria and Africa—and with friends & associates joining in from far and wide.
