The body of a man, simply identified as Femi, has been recovered from a well two days after missing along the Ado Ekiti-Afao Ekiti Road in the Ekiti State capital.
It was gathered that the deceased, who had been missing since on Friday dead body was found in a well allegedly on his plot of land on Sunday.
“It was in the bid to locate his whereabouts that some people suggested that he should be traced to his plot of land off the Ado Ekiti-Afao Ekiti Road. Surprisingly, his dead body was found inside the well there.”
The source, who said police investigation would unravel whether it was murder or suicide, said, “As I speak, I am still in shock. This is shocking,” The PUNCH reports.
He added that men of the state fire service and the police were invited to the scene to recover the corpse from the well.
The Ekiti State Police Public Relations Officer, Sunday Abutu, who confirmed the incident on Monday, said, “It was reported that the deceased left home on Friday and did not return. He was suddenly found in a well on Sunday along the Ado Ekiti-Afao Ekiti Road.
“The corpse has been recovered and deposited in the morgue. The police have begun investigation to know the actual cause of death. We will get to the root of the matter.”
