The Executive Governor of Yobe state, Mai Mala Buni has requested residents to expose “bad eggs” in their midst amid the growing insecurity in the game.

This was stated by the state governor, Buni during a security meeting in Damaturu on Tuesday.

The governor said residents must report suspicious movements even when they concern their relatives.

Recall that atleast two thousand residents were displaced in which some fled to Niger Republic owing to a Boko Haram attack which happened over the weekend.

The insurgents, who took over some communities in Geidam LGA, were also reported to have killed some residents.

Bumi condemned the attack, saying that Yobe’s security situation needs quick response and reassessment.

He said the displacement of the victims “in this holy month of Ramadan is condemnable, crude and grossly inhumane”.

“The sad events in Geidam call for quick response and reassessment of the security situation in our respective communities and the state generally,” he said.

“I am pleased to state that far-reaching decisions were made at the meeting with the chief of defence staff, especially on reinforcement of personnel and improved strategy to effectively combat the attacks.

“We must expose every bad egg in our communities even if they are our relations, including our biological children,” he said.

“It is our responsibility to report suspicious movements in or near our communities. We cannot keep blaming government and security agencies while people hoard valuable information.”
