The former governor of Cross River State Donald Duke has returned to the Peoples Democratic Party.
The Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party Caretaker Committee in Cross River State, Effiok Cobham, confirmed this on Wednesday at a press briefing in Calabar.
He said “Yes, he has registered.”
This development follows the defection of Governor Ben Ayade to the All Progressives Congress (APC) on May 20.
The former governor earlier defected from PDP to the Social Democratic Party, where he contested the 2019 presidential election.
Donald Duke served as governor of Cross River State for two terms spanning 1999 to 2007.
Before running for office, he served as commissioner for finance, budget and planning, and as a member of the National Economic Intelligence Committee and the Federal Economic Council.
