Abductors have freed two persons idenitified as Ayodele Somorin and Oladimeji Josiah who were kidnapped from their residence in the federal capital territory (FCT).
WITHIN NIGERIA learnt that the armed men numbering about seven invaded their homes in Byazhin area of Kubwa on May 21 around 11:45pm and abducted them.
The abductors had demanded N10 million on each abductee at first, before lowering it to N5 million each and then to N1 million each.
According to the report, the abductees were released after a sum of N2 million was paid to their abductors.
When the area was visited on Thursday morning, though Somorin and members of his family were not around, Josiah was at home.
Josiah, who looked pensive, described the experience as horrible.
He said the other victim and his family were advised by their relations not to sleep in their house now.
When contacted and asked about the release of the abductees and payment of ransom, Mariam Yusuf, the FCT command police spokesman, said she was unaware of the development.
“If I find out, I will get back to you,” she added.
Yusuf on Tuesday, confirmed the kidnapping, saying the police had launched an operation to rescue the victims unhurt.
