Nigeria’s President, Muhammadu Buhari has stated that all his appointments and policies are premised on “equity and inclusiveness”.
This was stated by the president on Monday in Abuja at a conference organised for youths in the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Recall that President Buhari has been accused of appointing people mainly from the north — an allegation he has denied.
Represented by Boss Mustapha, secretary to the government of the federation (SGF), the president said there is no part of the country that has not been “impacted positively in the areas of infrastructure, agriculture and economic support initiative based on peculiarities of the regions.”
“So far, all the policies, initiatives, projects and even appointments by this administration have been guided by equity and inclusiveness,” Buhari said.
The president said all those threatening the peace of the country would be dealt with.
“As you are all aware, we are currently dealing with some internal security challenges and I would like to reassure you that as the commander-in-chief of the armed forces, no effort will be spared in tackling them,” he said.
Earlier, Ismaeel Ahmed, APC youth leader, said the conference was organised to “energise” a progressive movement in the country.
Ahmed said the APC should be made a party of mostly young people.
