The Federal Government has accused the Supreme Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu of living a 5-star life, flying private jets before he was arrested.
Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed stated this while speaking at a press conference in Abuja on Thursday, adding that Kanu was turning out in designer clothes and shoes
The Minister disclosed that security and intelligence agencies were on the trail of the proscribed IPOB leader for two years before he was arrested on Sunday, June 27.
WITHIN NIGERIA had reported that the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, had announced the arrest of Kanu during an emergency media briefing in his office, Abuja.
It was gathered that Kanu was arrested by a combined team of Nigerian and foreign security agents in a coordinated interception on Sunday, June 27.
The Minister said: “It will interest Nigerians to know that for over two years, our security and intelligence agencies were on the trail of the proscribed IPOB leader as he lived a five-star life across several countries, travelling on chartered private jets, living in luxury apartments and turning out in designing clothes and shoes.
“Of course, as we all saw, Kanu was wearing an attire made by Fendi, a luxury Italian fashion brand, when he was arrested.”
