The detainees have been identified as Emmanuel Nnamdi Ohagwam, 42, his 3-and-a-half-year-old daughter, Favour Osinachi Ohagwam and Paul Ebeodi Okechukwu, 27.
A team of intelligence officials acting on a tip-off, arrested the three near the Tamabil land port on Thursday morning, July 8.
Gowainghat police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Parimal Dev, who confirmed the matter to Dhaka Tribune said that the Nigerian nationals “are now being questioned.”
Recall that on June 29, Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) detained a 31-year-old Nigerian national named Onyebuchukwu Stanley Egwu in Sylhet for allegedly sneaking into Bangladesh from India through the Tamabil land port.
